THE ARTIST

Alexis Georgoulis is a Greek actor, writer, producer & director with leading roles in Greek and international movies and acclaimed TV-series.

CIRRICULUM VITAE

Alexis Georgoulis was born in 1974 in Larissa, Greece.

Between 1988 and 1993, he took guitar lessons at the conservatoire of Larissa and in 1993 he enrolled in the Civil Engineering program at the National Technical University of Athens.

In 1996, he began taking acting classes at two different drama schools: ''Stage-Craft'' and the ''Theater Of Change''. During that time, he also took classes in phonetics. In 1997, he was accepted at the prestigious “Jasmine” school of acting, which was established by the pioneering drama instructor, Vasilis Diamandopoulos. Alexis Georgoulis graduated from “Jasmine” earning the highest honors. During his time at “Jasmine”, he teamed up with a dance group called "Heresis" and took part in the production of "Carmen 33" (1997) and of "The Return" (1998). During that time, Alexis was also cast in the TV series "Alice In Wonderland" (1997 ET CHANNEL) and in "Death Agony" (1998 ET CHANNEL); he was also cast in the short length action film "No One’s Rose".

In 2001, he co-starred in the sitcom "You Are My Tyrant" (“Eisai To Tairi Moy”), which became a huge commercial & critical success and propelled his career to the top of the Greek TV and theater scene. Alongside Nia Vardalos, he held the leading part in the Hollywood movie "My Life In Ruins" (2009), directed by Donald Petrie & distributed by 20th Century Fox.

In 2015 he starred in the movie "Ein Sommer In Griechenland" (ZDF channel) directed by Giorgo Papavasiliou.

Currently he stars in the British TV series "The Durrells" directed by Steve November, scheduled to air in March by ITV channel in the UK and is also the host of late night chat show ‘The Barman’, broadcast by Alpha TV in Greece.

Alexis Georgoulis is currently one of the top leading male actors in Greece and he is sharing his time between Los Angeles, London and Athens.

AS A WRITER

2013
Alexis wrote the play “By The First Time” and in 2015 he co-wrote the screenplay “Marionettes” directed by Pantelis Kalatzis. Two of his screenplays (“HERE” and “SIRIUS”) have an option to be produced.

2006
Alexis co-wrote with Sonia Milioni the screenplay for the 32 episodes tv series “Quicksand” for the Greek tv channel AlphaTV.
